Vilamoura International School (CIV) is seeking a Business Studies Teacher, starting in August for the next academic year. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality teaching within our International Curriculum, with a preference for experience in the IB Diploma Programme. The ideal candidate will foster critical thinking, real-world application of business concepts, and a strong understanding of global economic environments, inspiring students to develop analytical, entrepreneurial, and decision-making skills within an international context.
Job Responsibility:
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and rigorous lessons in Business Studies within the International Curriculum (IB experience highly desirable)
Develop students’ understanding of key business concepts, theories, and real-world applications within local and global contexts
Prepare students effectively for internal and external assessments in line with the relevant examination framework
Design and implement formative and summative assessments aligned with international standards
Foster inquiry-based learning, critical thinking, and independent research skills
Monitor and support student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback to students and parents
Contribute to curriculum development, departmental planning, and continuous improvement initiatives
Support students’ personal development in alignment with the school’s values and international education philosophy
Collaborate with colleagues across departments to promote interdisciplinary learning and international-mindedness
Participate actively in school meetings, events, enrichment activities, and ongoing professional development
Requirements:
A degree in Business, Economics, Education, or a related field
Experience teaching Business Studies within an international curriculum (IB Diploma Programme experience highly desirable)
Strong understanding of external assessment frameworks and examination preparation
A commitment to inquiry-based, student-centred learning
Excellent communication, organisational, and classroom management skills
The ability to inspire and motivate students within a multicultural, international environment
A collaborative mindset and willingness to contribute to wider school life
High professional standards, integrity, and commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing
