Job Description:

Monks is looking for a seasoned and experienced Pipeline Engineer who can solve technical issues, and develop pipelines and workflows for the 3D Animation team in Buenos Aires and beyond. In this role, you will work on demanding CGI projects for premium customers with the highest demands on quality and aesthetics.

Job Responsibility:

  • Understand the brief and find technical solutions to make the artistic goals of the project work within time and budget
  • Help define the right team and maintain and update CG pipelines based on the project need
  • Work closely with the Director, 3D lead and all the artists involved in a project
  • Hands-on involvement in production on projects
  • Attend team calls and brainstorming solutions together with the team
  • Be on the forefront of new developments and applications in the CG field and the implementation of innovation and AI automation/generation
  • Work closely with other offices in different countries and time zones
  • Help scope project times and check feasibility for the different tasks
  • Work from pre-production phase to final delivery, communicating constantly with different departments and adjusting pipeline and processes accordingly

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of production experience with the end-to-end 3D animation process in a senior or leading role
  • A deep knowledge of different CGI production pipelines and industry standards
  • Excellent ability to troubleshoot and solve technical problems
  • Excellent knowledge of all 3D softwares and render engines with a main focus on Maya/Arnold and Cinema4/Redshift
  • Complementary knowledge of other softwares such as Substance Painter, 3d Max, Houdini, After Effects, and/or Nuke
  • Ability to work in various steps of the 3D pipeline (Modeling, texturing, lighting, rendering and animation)
  • Deep understanding of 2D compositing
  • Excellent communication in English and collaboration skills to work effectively within a team
  • Able to meet, talk, and present to clients
  • Pro-active attitude, team player, positive, hands-on approach
