Job Description

Reporting to the Principal Hydrogeologist, to provide on‑site hydrogeological support to drilling and operational activities, ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant collection and reporting of groundwater data for our Pilgangoora Operations. This is a casual role which operates on a 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth or DIDO in the Pilbara region.

Job Responsibility

  • Provide on-site hydrogeological support to drilling and operational activities, including groundwater monitoring, testing and field data collection
  • Support the installation, development and sampling of monitoring bores, piezometers and production or test wells to approved standards
  • Collect, validate and maintain accurate groundwater data, bore logs and test results, and contribute to clear internal and regulatory reporting
  • Work closely with drill crews, geologists, contractors and site teams to coordinate hydrogeological activities safely and efficiently
  • Ensure all groundwater activities comply with site safety requirements, environmental approvals, water licences and regulatory obligations
  • Provide timely daily logs, handovers and technical input to support shift continuity, planning and operational decision-making

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualified in hydrogeology, geology, environmental science, earth sciences or a related discipline, with hands-on field experience in mining or exploration
  • Experienced in groundwater monitoring, bore installation and development, sampling, testing and accurate field data collection
  • A safety-focused team player who can work autonomously on site, adapt to changing priorities and build strong working relationships with crews and stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to validate groundwater data, maintain accurate bore logs and contribute to clear daily and regulatory reporting
  • Confident communicating with drillers, geologists, contractors and site teams to keep hydrogeological activities coordinated, compliant and on track
  • Hold a current Australian driver's licence and be able to meet site medical, fitness-for-work and other access requirements for a FIFO site-based role
