Job Responsibility

  • Design and analyze storm drainage systems, culverts, and erosion and sediment control systems for transportation and infrastructure projects
  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses using engineering software such as GEOPAK Drainage, HY-8, and HEC-RAS
  • Prepare drainage designs in accordance with local, state DOT, and federal standards
  • Complete inlet design, spread calculations, hydraulic grade line analysis, and culvert sizing
  • Design detention ponds and perform stormwater routing calculations for increased drainage areas and impervious surfaces
  • Develop airport drainage and hydraulic designs in compliance with county, DOT, and FAA standards
  • Prepare construction plans, technical reports, and project documentation
  • Produce cost estimates and support the development of engineering specifications
  • Coordinate stormwater permitting and regulatory requirements with relevant agencies
  • Support both design-bid-build and design-build infrastructure projects while collaborating with project teams and clients

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related engineering field
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or the ability to obtain within 12 months
  • Experience performing hydrologic and hydraulic design for infrastructure or transportation projects
  • Proficiency using drainage and hydraulic modeling software such as GEOPAK Drainage, HY-8, or HEC-RAS
  • Strong understanding of stormwater management, culvert design, and erosion control practices
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, plans, and technical specifications
  • Experience preparing construction plans, cost estimates, and technical reports
