Job Description

Looking for a hands-on Hydraulic Maintenance Engineer opportunity with an immediate start? This short-term role based in Wiri will see you using your hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical skills across both workshop and site-based work, with the potential for the assignment to be extended for the right person.

Job Responsibility

  • Reading and interpreting hydraulic schematics
  • Carrying out welding and machining tasks as required
  • Working on hydraulic and pneumatic systems across site and workshop environments
  • Fault finding on hydraulic circuits and machinery
  • Diagnosing issues, repairing components, and reassembling equipment to a high standard
  • Liaising with supervisors and team members to ensure work is completed safely and on time

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer or similar role
  • Strong welding and machining skills
  • Ability to confidently read and understand hydraulic schematics
  • Hands-on experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Experience with hydraulics and electronics, including fault finding on hydraulic circuits
  • Strong diagnostic skills - able to identify the problem, repair it, and reassemble correctly
  • Availability for an immediate start and commitment for approximately 4 weeks (with potential extension)
  • A strong focus on health and safety and working to best practice standards
  • Applicants must have the current right to work in New Zealand
  • Must pass a pre-employment Drug & Alcohol screening test
  • Ministry of Justice criminal background checks are part of our standard process
