Summit Skilled Solutions is seeking an experienced HVAC Technician to support operations at a high-tech commercial manufacturing facility in Wilton, CT. This role is responsible for performing preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on commercial HVAC systems while also functioning as a multi-craft technician supporting plumbing, electrical, and general building maintenance tasks.
Job Responsibility:
Perform comprehensive preventive maintenance inspections and services on standard commercial package and split HVAC systems
Inspect, repair, and replace belts, pulleys, and related components
Inspect and clean condensate drain lines
Test compressor, fan motor, blower motor performance, and verify proper operation of burners, heat exchangers, and safety controls
Perform general repairs on steam and hot water boiler systems
Diagnose airflow issues and complete ducting repairs as required
Safely and EPA-compliantly handle and utilize refrigerants
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and system failures on boiler, package, and split HVAC systems, including compressors, condensing units, control boards, contactors, leaks, and brazed copper components
Demonstrate working knowledge of AC motor controls, including testing, maintenance, and repair
Install, maintain, and troubleshoot Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
Complete preventive maintenance and corrective repairs in accordance with work order requirements
Perform service inspections and asset condition inspections as needed
Utilize mobile technology (tablet, smartphone) to access and complete work orders
Document services performed, including service notes, reports, and quality inspection photos
Maintain positive client relationships through professional communication and consistent follow-up
Complete all required safety and compliance training and actively participate in safety meetings
Adhere to all applicable building codes, OSHA regulations, state and federal guidelines, and company/client policies
Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements:
High School Diploma, trade degree/certification, or equivalent professional experience in HVAC or related trades
Minimum of 5 years of HVAC experience in commercial, industrial, or manufacturing environments
EPA Universal Certification required
Valid driver’s license in good standing
Strong understanding of commercial HVAC systems, controls, and sequences of operation
Ability to read and interpret safety policies, procedure manuals, and technical documentation
Knowledge of and strict adherence to OSHA standards and company safety policies
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
Ability to effectively communicate in one-on-one and small group settings
