As an HVAC Technician, you will be part of the Barrow Island project team delivering the installation of new HVAC systems across accommodation buildings within the camp facilities on Barrow Island. This role is focused on project-based installation works and will involve a broad range of HVAC activities, including the removal and replacement of existing systems, installation of new equipment, and support through testing and commissioning. You will work across mechanical, electrical, and controls components of the systems, contributing to quality project delivery in a live camp environment.
Job Responsibility
Install new HVAC systems within accommodation buildings in the camp facilities
Carry out replacement and upgrade works to existing HVAC infrastructure
Install and connect air handling units, fan coil units, condensers, evaporators, and associated plant
Complete ducting installation, modifications, and fit-off, including grilles, diffusers, and flexible connections
Install HVAC controls, sensors, thermostats, actuators, and associated control wiring
Assist with set-up, fit-off, and integration of control systems for proper operation of installed equipment
Read and interpret drawings, schematics, scopes, and installation details
Work closely with supervisors and other trades to coordinate mechanical, electrical, and controls interfaces
Support testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and defect resolution activities
Maintain a high standard of workmanship, housekeeping, and compliance with quality requirements
Complete all works in accordance with site safety procedures, permits, and environmental requirements
Requirements
Trade qualification in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning
Current Refrigerant Handling Licence
FIFO and remote site experience advantageous
Strong safety focus and ability to work within strict procedures
Ability to pass medical and drug & alcohol screening
Current Police Clerance
Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and D&A screening
