Summit Skilled Solutions is seeking a qualified HVAC Technician II to support commercial and industrial facility operations. This role is responsible for performing preventative, corrective, and predictive maintenance, as well as troubleshooting and repairing HVAC systems. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, detail-oriented, and capable of working effectively in a fast-paced, team-driven environment while maintaining strong communication and documentation practices.
Job Responsibility:
Perform installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of HVAC systems and components
Service equipment including ACUs, AHUs, heat pumps, VAV systems, DDC controls, and ventilation systems
Conduct routine inspections, testing, and system performance analysis to ensure optimal operation
Maintain and service chillers, boilers, and related equipment (preferred experience)
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, sequence of operations, and technical manuals
Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and ensure efficient system performance
Operate refrigerant recovery equipment, vacuum pumps, gauges, and charging systems following best practices
Perform brazing of refrigerant piping and lubrication of motors, fans, and mechanical components
Diagnose root causes of system malfunctions and implement corrective actions
Document all work performed, including issues identified, repairs completed, and recommendations for future work
Maintain accurate logs including equipment performance, refrigerant usage, filter changes, and system pressures
Manage inventory of filters, belts, spare parts, and critical components
Maintain tools, equipment, and workspaces in a safe and organized condition
Order parts and supplies as needed to support maintenance activities
Assist with major repairs and collaborate with maintenance teams and CMMS planners to improve preventative maintenance programs
Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours emergency service as required
Follow all OSHA regulations and company safety policies
Utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
Complete job hazard analyses prior to maintenance activities
Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials
Maintain awareness of emergency equipment and procedures
Requirements:
High school diploma required
2-year HVAC technical certification or state-approved HVAC license preferred
Proven experience working with commercial and/or industrial HVAC systems
Hands-on experience with HVAC equipment, controls, and system diagnostics
