Summit Skilled Solutions is seeking a skilled HVAC Technician II to support commercial and industrial facility operations. This role is responsible for performing preventative, corrective, and predictive maintenance on HVAC systems, as well as troubleshooting and repairs. The ideal candidate has strong technical expertise, communicates effectively, and thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment while maintaining a strong commitment to safety and quality.
Job Responsibility:
Perform maintenance, installation, troubleshooting, and repair of HVAC systems and components
Service equipment including ACUs, AHUs, heat pumps, VAV systems, DDC controls, and ventilation systems
Monitor and maintain system performance through routine inspections, testing, and data analysis
Maintain and service chillers, boilers, and related mechanical systems
Interpret and work from blueprints, control schematics, sequence of operations, and technical manuals
Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and ensure optimal HVAC system performance
Operate refrigerant recovery systems, vacuum pumps, gauges, and charging equipment using best practices
Perform brazing of refrigerant piping and lubricate motors, fans, and mechanical linkages
Diagnose root causes of HVAC system malfunctions and implement corrective actions
Document findings, repairs, and recommended follow-up work in service reports
Maintain accurate logs including equipment performance, refrigerant usage, filter changes, and system pressures
Manage inventory of parts, filters, belts, and critical spares
Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organized condition
Order necessary parts and supplies to support maintenance activities
Collaborate with maintenance teams and CMMS planners to optimize preventative maintenance programs
Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours emergency service as required
Follow all OSHA safety standards and company safety protocols
Utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
Complete job hazard analyses prior to performing maintenance tasks
Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials
Maintain awareness of emergency equipment and procedures
Requirements:
High school diploma required
2-year HVAC technical certification or state-approved HVAC license preferred
Proven experience working on commercial and/or industrial HVAC systems
Hands-on experience with a wide range of HVAC equipment and controls
