Incumbent will monitor, maintain adjust, and repair building HVAC systems owned or leased by the Medical University of South Carolina in order to ensure safety, environmental control and economy of mechanical, electrical, systems. Incumbent should have a working knowledge of HVAC systems including, but not limited to, Chillers, AHU, Drives, Motors, Pumps, and Refrigeration Units. The incumbent will, on a rotating basis, be on call for one week and work a weekend scheduled shift. Incumbent is Considered Essential Personnel in a disaster.
Job Responsibility:

Perform daily routine equipment checks
Make adjustments as needed to maintain comfort of building occupants
Assess alarm conditions
Document daily equipment checks
Check equipment interface panels for alarm activity
Reset equipment and clear alarms as needed
Perform routine scheduled maintenance of control systems
Test equipment safeties and function on essential systems
Perform routine systems checks daily
Document maintenance activities
Interface with vendor technical support
Respond to trouble calls
Make contact with requestor
Make repairs, adjustments or calibration
Document all activities
Advise Facility Management of cases where repairs cannot be made
Make temporary repairs as needed
Be available to respond to emergency after hours and weekend duty
Work overtime if required
Stay at the facility during weather or disaster emergencies
Interact with staff and co workers in courteous professional manner
Perform work in a neat professional workmanlike manner
Communicate verbally and in writing to customers and staff
Maintain Personal Protection Equipment properly
Wear Personal Protection Equipment as needed
Provide and maintain a safe working environment
Adhere to all requirements regarding infection control
Report any unsafe situation
Requirements:
High School Degree or Equivalent Work Experience: 3 years
