Job Description

This is an HVAC service manager role you'd genuinely run, not just hold together. You'd report straight to the Managing Director, with real room to take the whole function on and make it your own.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead 15 engineers across the southern and northern operations, plus an office team of an administrator, two coordinators and a service account manager
  • keeping compliance and certifications in order
  • making sure the day to day holds together
  • pulling together the more complex quotes
  • getting the right detail onto risk assessments and method statements
  • supporting customers when queries come up

Requirements

  • Real experience running a service department in HVAC, refrigeration or critical cooling – the technical grounding to back up your engineers and your office team, not just manage them
  • happy office-based in Fareham, out to sites when it counts

  • Understand the sales criteria – conversion & average ticket – for work types and hold technicians accountable to meet and exceed revenue goals
  • Hold weekly 1:1's with technicians to conduct performance reviews and personal check-ins
  • Perform weekly ride-a-longs to ensure service system processes are being followed
  • Review technicians' work – in person & via ServiceTitan – to ensure quality & established standards are being followed
  • Provide technical support, either directly or through Field Supervisors
  • Ensure neatness of dress & care of equipment, including vehicle maintenance & readiness
  • Ensure safety compliance
  • Recruit, interview, hire, and train technicians in conjunction with General Manager to meet budget
  • Submit/review payroll for technicians to accounting weekly
