Job Description

We are looking for an experienced HVAC/Refrigeration Mechanic. Ideally, this person would have experience in hospitality, with chilled water systems, AHU’s, split systems, motors/pumps/drives and refrigeration. The mechanic is responsible for the daily maintenance and repairs of all hotel heating, air conditioning, refrigeration and ventilation systems as well as all hot and cold-water systems to include but not limited to boilers, chilled water, associated pumps and motors, refrigeration equipment, coolers and freezers. Perform Preventive Maintenance as assigned or required while keeping system downtime to a minimum. Provide our guest with first class services.

Job Responsibility

  • Conduct daily Preventive Maintenance (PM) on all HVAC/Refrigeration equipment as needed or assigned
  • Perform any necessary repairs in a timely manner as to reduce downtime
  • Track all associated inventory and maintain established inventory levels
  • Complete all required reports on equipment history to include all cost associated with any repair or PM
  • Conduct all equipment walk-throughs, reading and logs as requested by Engineering management
  • Assist with the development and implementation of a Refrigeration Usage Log and keep it current
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of assigned shops, mechanical areas, tool carts and tools
  • Responsible for the daily maintenance and repairs of all hotel heating, air conditioning, refrigeration and ventilation systems as well as all hot and cold-water systems to include but not limited to boilers, chilled water, associated pumps and motors, refrigeration equipment, coolers and freezers

Requirements

  • 2–3 years of hotel maintenance experience required
  • Strong skill set in HVAC and refrigeration systems, including troubleshooting and repair
  • Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and general repair work
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and make sound decisions
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills and a commitment to guest service
  • Must be able to work weekends and flexible hours, including holidays

  • Installs evaporator units in chassis or in air duct systems, using hand and power tools
  • Cuts and bends tubing to correct length and shape, using cutting and bending equipment and tools
  • Cuts and threads pipe, using machine-threading or hand-threading equipment
  • Joins tubing or pipes to various refrigerating units by means of sleeves, couplings, or unions, solder and brazed joints, using torch
  • Installs expansion and discharge valves in circuit
  • Electrically connects motors, compressors, temperature controls, humidity controls and circulating ventilation fans to control panels and connects control panels to power source
  • Installs air and water filters in completed installation
