We’re looking for an experienced HVAC professional who enjoys variety, problem-solving, and making a difference. This role involves advanced repair, maintenance, and installation of commercial HVAC systems, along with monitoring building automation and geothermal systems in City facilities and fire stations. You’ll work independently, use your expertise every day, and help keep essential community spaces running smoothly.
Job Responsibility:
Coordinates day-to-day work, delegates tasks and sets deadlines for the assigned team
Performs journey-level installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs to commercial and residential HVAC systems and equipment
Trains personnel on maintenance standards and safety procedures for HVAC, mechanical, geothermal and automated systems
Monitors and manages all aspects of the building automation systems (BAS) and direct digital controls (DDC)
Reviews the design, size and layout of HVAC systems for new construction
Utilizes computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to create maintenance and preventive maintenance procedures
Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
6 years of experience repairing and maintaining a complex and diverse array of commercial HVAC equipment and systems in a commercial facility environment, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience
Valid state-issued driver's license
Journey-level HVAC license issued by the state of Idaho
EPA Universal Refrigerant certification
Knowledge of appropriate use of pressure gauges, amp probes, charging and recovery equipment, welding equipment, mechanical tools and specialized automated equipment to diagnose and calibrate devices and systems
knowledge of related EPA laws and regulations
electrical and mechanical schematics and blueprints reading and interpretation
electrical equipment utilizing 120-, 240-, and 480-volt, single- and three-phase power sources
direct digital control (DDC) systems and building automation systems (BAS)
geothermal systems and renewable energy systems
lock out/tag out safety procedures and related occupational hazards and standard safety precautions
and computer usage including related software
Ability to maintain and install HVAC systems
read and interpret monitoring systems for geothermal, heating and cooling systems
communicate effectively in the English language at a level necessary for efficient job performance
and perform all essential functions as assigned
Individuals must be capable of operating vehicles safely and have an acceptable driving record
