BTEC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
Thorough understanding of electrical power systems up to 33KV
Good knowledge and understanding of transformers
Operational experience as a HV Electrical Fitter
Ability to work proactively both independently and in a team
Excellent workload prioritization skills
Ensure high standards of work on client sites
Ability to obtain SC/CTC clearance and pass a DBS check
Full UK Driving Licence

Job Responsibility

Maintain and service HV, LV, transformers, switchgear, and associated equipment
Perform electrical testing and fault finding
Write detailed quality reports and daily site reports
Conduct mechanical modifications and repairs
Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) to manufacturers’ standards
Proactively report faults in equipment
Test LV protection and generate accurate reports of results
Install HV/LV panels and transformers according to manufacturers’ standards

Minimum ONC in Electrical Engineering discipline or equivalent
Pre-existing authorisation to work for midlands distribution network operator (NGED) - desirable
Distribution Network experience within the Electrical Supply Industry
Ability to give direction in application of Distribution Safety Rules, safety procedures and codes of practice in combination with health & safety legislation requirements
Familiarity with relevant network diagram software programs
Customer awareness and knowledge of DNO client expectations and how to meet/exceed these
Demonstrable knowledge of the requirements of electrical projects and procedures required for delivery
Proven ability to apply relevant design/planning procedures and requirements
Proven ability to deliver projects within time, cost, quality and safety parameters
Good understanding of the asset owner interfaces and network attributes

Job Responsibility

Act in the capacity of a Senior Authorised Person (SAP) up to 33kV in accordance with the electricity supply industry Model Distribution Safety Rules (MDSR)
Responsible for electrical safety management for any project which they have made safe for others to work upon, ensuring wherever possible compliance to asset owner standards
May also have project manager responsibilities for a portfolio of projects ensuring their safe and timely delivery
Manage projects to the highest safety standards - zero harm
Responsible for site safety and work quality and compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality standards - compliance with health and safety legislation
Manage Projects to the highest electrical safety management safety standards - zero harm, network security
Manage Projects to the company Environmental Standards - zero environmental impact
Develop good relationships with clients, other service providers, architects, consultants and end customers - Increased sales and repeat business
Promote, design and deliver full project management solutions - reduced customer effort and time, ensuring value for money
