We're looking for a Design Engineer proficient in electrical designs ranging from 11kV-33kV, with experience in 132kV designs being a considerable advantage. This position will not only produce intricate electrical designs but will also liaise seamlessly with various stakeholders to guarantee the design approval and construction process operates without hitches. This role presents an opportunity to mentor other electrical design team members, assure the quality of designs, and contribute to business growth in alignment with commercial teams.

Job Responsibility

  • Create preliminary and detailed engineering designs from LV to 132kV, covering aspects like electrical and basic protection design, civil layout designs, and managing designs produced by external partners
  • Spearhead communications with DNO/IDNO for design approvals
  • Direct the customer engagement throughout the design phase
  • Prepare project cost approximations and detailed reports
  • Source technical quotations or major procurement items
  • Oversee and mentor less experienced team members
  • Aid in the commercial team's efforts and other internal departments by providing technical electrical advice
  • Conduct thorough technical and quality checks on designs produced by junior team members
  • Present frequent reports to senior management encompassing key performance indicators, design progress, and other pertinent updates

Requirements

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Electrical Distribution Design up to 132kV or extensive experience within LV and 33kV
  • A Degree/HND in a relevant Engineering discipline
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Windebut Software, and ERACS or comparable Power system software
  • Current and clean driving license
