Job Description:

We are in search of a dedicated individual to join their team as a Build Assurance Engineer. The primary focus of this role is to conduct and manage site audits/inspections of assets under construction and pre-energisation, ensuring they meet our rigorous standards for adoption. This position is crucial in maintaining the integrity of their network and requires a candidate with a solid background in the electrical distribution industry, particularly in new connections network design and installation.

Job Responsibility:

  • Collaborate with Design, Design Approvals, and Adoption teams to adhere to company policies and procedures during construction and adoption phases
  • Ensure all networks for adoption comply with company design standards, industry legislation, and regulatory requirements
  • Manage snagging lists and confirm resolution of issues upon completion
  • Assist in the completion of audit reports and inform the design assurance team of any design changes during the Build Assurance or asset energisation stages
  • Contribute to the pre-energisation stage and gate process, facilitating a smooth transition to the Asset Management team
  • Stay updated on all relevant legislation related to the design, adoption, ownership, and operation of electricity distribution networks
  • Support a range of business activities and ensure the Audit and Inspection regime is effectively implemented

Requirements:

  • Qualifications in electricity distribution such as BTEC (ONC/HNC), C&G, NVQ, or similar
  • Familiarity with construction legislation, site health and safety, and environmental requirements
  • Competence in achieving and maintaining authorization under the DSR’s at Competent or Authorised person status
  • Proficient in reviewing and interpreting plans, drawings, and design documentation
  • Strong customer service ethic and communication skills across all levels of an organization
  • Ability to audit effectively while managing customer relationships and using software packages such as Excel and Word
