Their electrical distribution network powers over 2m homes across the UK and they are now looking for an HV Asset Engineer to provide oversight on network construction and auditing of substation plant and other HV equipment. The role of HV Asset Engineer is a regional, home-based position, where the primary goal is to support the business in asset auditing, alongside operational and construction tasks. This role is pivotal in maintaining the integrity and efficiency of the electrical distribution infrastructure, offering technical support and undertaking inspections to uphold the highest standards of safety and functionality.

Job Responsibility

  • Conduct HV Authorised Person activities up to 20kV as needed
  • Independently manage and perform a specified number of inspections annually on LV/HV assets in line with the Inspection & Maintenance policy
  • Provide technical assistance to peers and network operations when necessary
  • Develop and pursue a personal development plan
  • Offer training supervision to colleagues where applicable
  • Foster a supportive and informative workplace atmosphere
  • Execute additional tasks as assigned by the Installations Manager

Requirements

  • LV Authorisations or equivalent
  • City & Guilds or similar qualifications
  • knowledge of network operations
  • HV authorisation up to 20kV
  • Understanding of Distribution Safety Rules
  • familiarity with current legislation and codes of practice
  • Proven experience in self-management, problem-solving, and delivering high-level customer service
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
