We are seeking a dedicated Qualified Humanities Teacher (QTS) to join a dynamic Secondary School in the Bromley-By-Bow area. This role is perfect for an educator who can confidently teach across History, Geography, and Religious Studies at KS3, with a specialist focus in at least one subject at KS4. Job Responsibility
Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver engaging Humanities lessons across KS3, fostering an early interest in how societies, environments, and beliefs shape our world
Subject Specialism: Lead GCSE cohorts in either History or Geography, utilizing data-driven interventions to ensure students reach their target grades
Inquiry-Based Learning: Develop students' critical thinking skills, encouraging them to analyse sources, evaluate different perspectives, and construct well-reasoned arguments
Inclusive Practice: Differentiate complex global and historical topics for a diverse classroom, ensuring the curriculum is accessible and relevant to students in Tower Hamlets
Literacy & Communication: Support students in developing their extended writing and oracy skills, essential for success in Humanities and beyond
Faculty Collaboration: Work within a high-energy Humanities department to share resources, moderate assessments, and contribute to cross-curricular projects
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Mandatory. A degree in History, Geography, or a related Humanities discipline
Inner-City Resilience: The ability to build strong, respectful relationships with students from diverse backgrounds and manage a classroom with confidence and empathy
Subject Passion: A genuine drive to make Humanities subjects come alive, linking historical events and geographical phenomena to the lives of young people in East London
