We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Support Specialist to join our team in the education sector. This is a critical hands-on role supporting a wide range of HR functions in a dynamic school or district environment. You will play a key role in employee relations, compliance, and operational HR support during a time of active investigations and increased workload.
Job Responsibility:
Conduct and support ongoing employee investigations, including matters related to discipline, harassment, and workplace compliance
Manage full-cycle employee relations processes, utilizing the FRISK model (or similar structured frameworks) to address performance and conduct issues

Ensure organizational compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, particularly in a unionized environment (union shop experience is a plus)
Deliver HR training to staff and management on topics including employee relations, harassment prevention, and compliance
Partner with higher-level management on disciplinary actions, performance improvement plans, and resolution of complex employee issues
Provide day-to-day HR support in areas such as policy interpretation, documentation, and record-keeping

Solid experience in employee relations and conducting workplace investigations
Proven ability to apply the FRISK model (or equivalent progressive discipline framework) in handling employee performance and conduct matters
Strong working knowledge of leaves management (FMLA, workers’ comp, etc.) — must be able to manage this area independently
Experience in a unionized (union shop) environment is highly preferred
Demonstrated ability to interact professionally and effectively with senior leadership, administrators, and union representatives
Thorough knowledge of employment law, harassment prevention, and compliance requirements
Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills
High level of discretion and ability to handle sensitive matters with professionalism
