Our client, a growing and dynamic company in Torrance, is seeking a hands-on Human Resources Manager to lead key HR initiatives and serve as a trusted partner to employees and leadership. Job Responsibility
Lead full-cycle recruiting efforts, from sourcing and interviewing to offers and onboarding
Partner with managers to support employee relations, performance management, and workforce planning
Oversee onboarding, employee transitions, and offboarding processes
Administer employee benefits and serve as a primary point of contact for benefit-related questions
Coordinate payroll processing with an external payroll provider to ensure accuracy and timeliness
Manage leave of absence programs, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, workers' compensation, and other employee leave matters
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and multi-state employment laws and regulations
Maintain employee records, HR policies, and compliance documentation
Support employee training, development, engagement, and retention initiatives
Drive continuous improvement of HR processes, systems, and programs
Requirements
5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience with a strong HR Generalist background
Prior HR management or leadership experience preferred
Experience supporting recruiting, employee relations, benefits, leave administration, and compliance
Strong knowledge of California employment law
Experience coordinating payroll processes
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Ability to build relationships across all levels of an organization
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred
PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certifications are a plus
7+ years of progressive experience in human resources, including broad HR generalist responsibilities
Demonstrated background supervising or guiding HR-related work and supporting managers across employee lifecycle matters
Working knowledge of employment compliance, benefits administration, payroll coordination, leave management, and employee relations
Experience using HR systems and tools such as HRIS platforms, applicant tracking systems, learning management systems, and ADP payroll solutions
Strong communication, organization, follow-through, and employee service skills
Practical, solution-oriented judgment with the ability to build effective relationships across all levels of the organization
Nice to have
PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certifications
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field
Prior HR management or leadership experience
