We are looking for an experienced Human Resources Manager to join our team in Washington, District of Columbia. Job Responsibility:
Ensure compliance with DC employment laws, regulations, and organizational policies
Handle sensitive matters with confidentiality and discretion, maintaining trust within the workplace
Manage employee relations, including performance management, investigations, and offboarding processes
Collaborate with Legal Talent on attorney performance processes and evaluations
Oversee recruitment efforts and manage the hiring process for business services roles
Act as the HR representative for the Washington office, working closely with leadership to address office-specific needs
Provide guidance and support to attorneys and business services professionals, ensuring alignment with organizational goals
Address HR-related issues effectively and escalate concerns when necessary
Partner with leadership teams to develop and implement HR strategies that align with organizational objectives
Maintain and utilize HRIS systems to streamline HR operations and reporting
Requirements:
At least 3 years of experience in human resources management, preferably in a law firm or detail-oriented services environment
Strong understanding of DC employment laws, compliance requirements, and HR best practices
Proven ability to handle sensitive information with a high level of discretion and confidentiality
Solid HR generalist experience across areas such as performance management, investigations, employee relations, and offboarding
Private sector HR experience is required
Experience supporting attorneys and business services staff is strongly preferred
Ability to identify and escalate issues appropriately in a detail-oriented setting
