We are looking for an experienced Human Resources leader to oversee core people operations in New York, New York. This role will guide benefits, compensation, HR systems, and employee support while helping ensure consistent and compliant practices across U.S. and Canadian teams. The ideal candidate brings strong operational judgment, deep knowledge of cross-border HR programs, and the ability to create a reliable, positive experience for employees and managers alike.
Job Responsibility
Lead daily HR operations with a focus on benefits, compensation administration, employee support, and efficient people processes
Manage the organization’s HRIS platform, maintaining accurate employee records and improving the experience for both staff and managers
Administer U.S. and Canadian benefit plans, including health coverage, retirement offerings, and leave programs
Collaborate with payroll and compliance partners to support adherence to employment requirements and reporting obligations in the U.S. and Canada
Respond to employee questions related to policies, benefits, and HR programs, providing clear guidance and timely follow-up
Partner with leadership and finance teams on compensation planning, including merit reviews, bonus administration, and broader pay practices
Support performance management activities and other people programs designed to strengthen engagement and organizational effectiveness
Contribute to HR initiatives such as open enrollment, policy updates, onboarding improvements, and other operational projects as needed
Requirements
10+ years of progressive HR experience, including work in both U.S. and Canadian employee environments
Hands-on experience managing HRIS platforms and maintaining high standards for data accuracy and process reliability
Strong knowledge of benefit administration across the U.S. and Canada, including healthcare, retirement, and leave policies
Experience partnering with finance and senior leaders on compensation strategy, salary planning, and incentive cycles
Working knowledge of employment law and compliance requirements in the U.S. and Canada
familiarity with Quebec regulations is highly valued
Ability to manage multiple priorities with strong attention to detail in a fast-paced setting
Effective communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to support employees and leaders professionally
