Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Human Resources (HR) Manager to lead core people operations for a growing industrial distribution organization in Westfield, Indiana. This position combines strategic partnership with hands-on execution across onboarding, employee support, benefits, compliance, training, and payroll. The ideal candidate will help create a consistent employee experience, strengthen HR practices across locations, and support workforce integration related to acquisitions while maintaining operational reliability.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead daily HR operations, ensuring smooth administration of employee programs and consistent support throughout the full employment lifecycle
  • Oversee onboarding from pre-employment through orientation, coordinating documentation, access setup, and early-stage training for new team members
  • Manage the transition of employees joining through acquisitions by preparing Day 1 readiness plans, aligning communications, and guiding adoption of company policies and processes
  • Administer benefit offerings and leave programs, serving as a key contact for employees, external partners, and internal stakeholders during enrollment, renewals, and case management
  • Develop, update, and communicate HR policies, handbook content, and standard operating procedures to promote consistency, compliance, and strong internal controls
  • Maintain accurate employee data and HR records, supporting reporting needs, documentation standards, and audit preparedness across the organization
  • Coordinate training initiatives for managers and employees, including workplace conduct, compliance, safety, and performance-related programs
  • Address employee relations matters by supporting investigations, corrective action processes, and practical issue resolution aligned with employment regulations
  • Partner with finance and payroll providers to process weekly or bi-weekly payroll, verify time and pay data, and resolve deductions, garnishments, and payroll discrepancies
  • Assist with HR due diligence and post-acquisition integration activities, including review of workforce information, benefit alignment, payroll coordination, and process standardization

Requirements

  • Proven experience managing broad HR functions in a fast-paced business environment
  • Strong working knowledge of employee relations, HR administration, onboarding, and benefits management
  • Experience supporting payroll processing in coordination with finance teams or external payroll providers
  • Familiarity with HRIS platforms and disciplined employee data management practices
  • Solid understanding of employment law compliance at the federal, state, and local levels
  • Ability to create and implement policies, procedures, and training programs that support organizational consistency
  • Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to work effectively across field and corporate teams
  • Experience supporting acquisitions, organizational growth, or multi-site operations is preferred
