We are partnering with a growing and well-established organization in El Segundo seeking an experienced HR Manager to lead and execute day-to-day human resources operations. This is a hands-on role supporting a company of approximately 140 employees, working closely with leadership while managing a small HR team. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and is comfortable balancing both strategic initiatives and tactical HR responsibilities. The HR Manager will oversee all core HR functions including employee relations, compliance, payroll oversight, benefits administration, and HRIS management. This role will supervise a team of two and serve as a key partner to leadership in driving HR best practices and ensuring operational efficiency.
Job Responsibility:
Manage and oversee daily HR operations for a workforce of ~140 employees
Supervise and mentor a small HR team (2 staff members)
Partner with leadership on employee relations matters, performance management, and organizational planning
Ensure compliance with all federal, state (California), and local employment laws and regulations
Oversee payroll processing using Paycom, including auditing and resolving discrepancies
Maintain and optimize HRIS data integrity, reporting, and workflows within Paycom
Administer employee benefits programs and support open enrollment processes
Lead onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring a positive employee experience
Develop, implement, and update HR policies and procedures
Support talent acquisition efforts as needed, including recruiting coordination and hiring strategy
Manage HR reporting, metrics, and internal audits
Requirements:
5+ years of progressive HR experience, including leadership or supervisory responsibilities
Prior experience managing HR for a mid-sized organization (100+ employees preferred)
Hands-on experience with Paycom (required)
Experience processing or overseeing payroll (multi-state experience a plus)
Strong knowledge of California labor laws and HR compliance
Proven ability to handle sensitive employee relations issues with discretion and professionalism
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
