We are seeking a people-focused, results-driven Human Resources Manager to support HR operations at our Columbia, Pennsylvania manufacturing facility. This role is essential in partnering with our workforce and leadership team, ensuring compliance, and fostering a positive and productive work environment. Reporting directly to the Director of Human Resources, the ideal candidate will bring 5–7 years of HR leadership experience, including a strong background in unionized environments and the ability to act as a strategic HR business partner.
Job Responsibility:
Serve as a trusted HR advisor for the Columbia, PA plant, supporting approximately 400+ employees and collaborating cross-functionally with Talent Acquisition and other HR centers of excellence
Partner with plant leadership to align HR strategies with operational goals, driving workforce planning, organizational effectiveness, and talent initiatives
Provide data-driven insights to influence business decisions on workforce trends, engagement, and productivity
Manage labor relations, including contract interpretation, grievance handling, and proactive union engagement
Lead recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies to attract and retain top talent in a competitive market
Oversee performance management, employee development, and succession planning, ensuring a strong leadership pipeline
Consult leaders on employee relations, organizational design, and change management
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies
Champion employee engagement and culture-building initiatives, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment
Maintain accurate HR records and prepare reports for leadership and corporate HR
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
5–7 years of HR management experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting
Proven experience working with unionized workforces and labor contracts
Strong knowledge of employment law, HR best practices, and compliance requirements
Demonstrated ability to influence and partner with leadership to drive business results
Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite
Nice to have:
SHRM or HRCI certification is a plus (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR)
