We are seeking a dedicated Human Resources (HR) Manager for a 4-5 month contract in Chicago, Illinois. This 100% on-site role offers the chance to independently lead HR operations for a unionized manufacturing facility, supporting a cohesive production team. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in benefits management, HR systems, and onboarding processes.
Job Responsibility:
Manage and oversee daily HR operations, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal regulations
Develop and implement strategies to enhance employee relations and workplace satisfaction
Administer benefit programs, including enrollment and communication, to support employee needs
Utilize HRIS platforms to streamline processes and maintain accurate employee records
Lead onboarding efforts to ensure new hires have a smooth transition into the organization
Provide guidance and support to management on HR-related matters, including performance management
Analyze HR data and metrics to identify trends and propose actionable improvements
Serve as primary HR contact, especially for union employees
Collaborate with leadership to align HR strategies with business objectives
Address employee concerns promptly and professionally, fostering an inclusive and supportive work environment
Requirements:
Proven experience in human resources management, with a focus on employee relations and HR administration
Strong experience in a unionized environment
Manufacturing industry experience
Demonstrated ability to manage onboarding processes effectively
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Experience using ADP is highly preferred
Familiarity with labor laws and compliance standards
