This hotel is owned and operated by an independent franchisee, Oklahotel (Pty) Ltd. The franchisee is a separate company and a separate employer from Marriott International, Inc. The franchisee solely controls all aspects of the hotel’s employment policies and practices, including hiring, firing, discipline, staffing, compensation, benefits, and all other terms and conditions of employment. Job Responsibility:
Ensure full compliance with South African labour legislation, including BCEA, LRA, EEA, and OHSA
Manage all employee relations matters, including disciplinary hearings, grievances, and CCMA cases
Advise management on labour law matters and best HR practices
Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures
Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies
Manage performance management systems and employee development initiatives
Handle payroll input and ensure accuracy in HR administration
Maintain employee records and HR reporting systems
Drive transformation, employment equity, and skills development initiatives alongside the training manager
Foster a positive workplace culture aligned with hospitality standards
Review and control all Labour related policies within the contract of employment
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, Labour Law, or related field
Strong knowledge of South African labour legislation
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an HR Manager or similar HR role
Experience in the hospitality industry (4-star or similar environment) is highly advantageous
Proven experience handling disciplinary processes and CCMA cases
Proficient in MS Office and HR systems
Strong knowledge and application of labour law
Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
High level of integrity and confidentiality
Strong organisational and administrative skills
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Leadership and team management ability
Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
Postgraduate qualification in Labour Law or HR
Experience working in a unionised environment
Knowledge of hospitality HR systems and practices
Nice to have:
Experience in the hospitality industry (4-star or similar environment) is highly advantageous
