Your Opportunity An opportunity is available for a dynamic HR Management professional to join our team on a 12 month fixed term, maternity leave cover contract. This role will initially commence in our Osborne Park office, but will transition to our brand new offices based in the Perth CBD area late 2026. As a true “generalist HR management” position, you will be able to use your expertise across all areas of Human Resources to provide expert support and guidance to our business leaders and projects and ensure the delivery of best practice outcomes in ER/IR and HR management activities. Reporting to the General Manager Human Resources, and as a key member of the HR leadership team, you will mentor and empower a small team of skilled HR & IR Advisors and assist the business to achieve our strategic goals.
Job Responsibility
Day to day leadership and mentoring of the HR/IR Advisory team
Effective application and interpretation of Enterprise Agreements, Employment Contracts, the Fair Work Act and any other relevant legislation to ensure compliance with company and statutory requirements
Developing Industrial Relations strategies that minimise Industrial Relations risk for the Company, across multiple states and jurisdictions
Leading the renegotiation and/or development of Enterprise Agreements where required
Provide advice, support and coaching to leaders in the areas of employee relations, performance management, disciplinary action and policies and procedure application
Managing and supporting the execution of cyclical HR events (e.g. annual remuneration reviews, performance development reviews)
Lead department projects and other initiatives (i.e. Indigenous Engagement Strategy, Diversity and Inclusion Strategy, Job Architecture, Psychosocial Initiatives and Harmful Behaviours Campaigns)
Investigating complaints relating to alleged breaches of awards, agreements, industrial legislation an employment law
Actively participating in the design, development and implementation of the Primero Remuneration Strategy and various Bonus and Incentive Scheme Programs
Reviewing and updating policies and procedures to maintain currency, relevance and efficacy
Support the Business Development team with tender submissions around Employee and Industrial Relations and Indigenous Engagement management plans
Monitoring workplace trends, preparing ER/IR reports, and implementing insights for improved engagement and productivity
Requirements
Previous demonstrated experience as a HR Manager within the mining, construction, engineering or resources sector
Demonstrate sound leadership and mentoring qualities, with the ability to influence across all levels of the organisation
Have the ability to draw upon a strong background in Industrial Relations to deliver best for business outcomes
Use your highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills to provide innovative and fit for purpose solutions to complex workforce / industrial issues
Have a strong ability to prioritise what is important, plan your deliverables, and multi-task for the best outcome
Use your strong verbal and written communication skills to build capacity and knowledge across all levels of the organisation
