We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Human Resources (HR) Manager to join our team in Rancho Dominguez, California. This is a hands-on, contract-to-permanent position that requires a strategic, detail-oriented individual who can work closely with operations and safety teams while strengthening HR processes and systems. The ideal candidate will drive employee relations initiatives, ensure compliance with employment laws, and support organizational growth through effective HR leadership.
Job Responsibility:
Oversee daily HR operations and provide mentorship and development opportunities for the HR team
Collaborate with leadership to implement HR strategies, workforce planning, and organizational initiatives
Manage employee relations, address performance concerns, and conduct workplace investigations
Ensure compliance with federal and California employment laws, including managing leave and accommodations
Develop, update, and maintain HR policies, procedures, and standard operating practices
Provide coaching and support to managers on HR-related practices, documentation, and performance management
Partner with operations and safety teams to foster compliance and cultivate a positive workplace culture
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance HR systems and workflows
Supervise front office and administrative functions to ensure smooth and efficient operations
Requirements:
At least 7 years of progressive HR experience, including 5 years in an HR Manager capacity
In-depth knowledge of California employment laws and HR compliance
Proven expertise in managing employee relations and conducting workplace investigations
Demonstrated ability to lead teams and develop HR infrastructure
Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a strong advantage
Familiarity with logistics, warehouse, or operational environments
Experience with HRIS systems, onboarding, payroll (ADP), and benefits administration
Knowledge of safety management practices and their application in workplace environments
