We are seeking a dynamic and motivated HR Intern to support staffing and employee engagement efforts at Aramark at Virginia Tech. This position plays a key role in supporting our partnerships with non-profit organizations (NPOs), ensuring smooth food and beverage (F&B) operations, and helping create a positive work environment for all event staff.
Job Responsibility:
Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and scheduling of event staff and NPO volunteers for football games and large events
Support coordination between HR and Operations to ensure all shifts are properly staffed
Help develop and execute employee engagement strategies that foster a positive and inclusive work culture during events
Track attendance, performance, and engagement metrics for event staff and NPO groups
Assist in managing communication and logistics for NPO group participation in food and beverage operations
Help ensure compliance with labor regulations and internal HR policies
Support training sessions on customer service, food safety, and event day procedures
Provide on site-supporting during events to help with HR needs, including check-ins, issue resolution, and morale boosting activities
Assist in post-event reporting and feedback collection to identify areas for improvement
Requirements:
Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field
Strong interest in HR operations, employee engagement, and event management
Excellent organizational communication and communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team oriented environment
Available to work weekends and evenings during major college events and football games
Nice to have:
Experience working with non-profits, in food and beverage or in event staffing is a plus
