We are looking for an experienced Human Resources (HR) Manager to support a manufacturing operation through a long-term contract assignment. This onsite role blends hands-on payroll execution with day-to-day HR support, making it well suited for someone who is comfortable working across employee administration, benefits coordination, and process-driven people operations. The position requires someone who can manage sensitive information, maintain accuracy in a structured environment, and communicate effectively with employees, leaders, and external partners.
Job Responsibility:
Manage end-to-end payroll activities for multiple employee groups, including biweekly and semi-monthly processing, validation, corrections, and final review for accuracy
Maintain and update employee payroll and HR records within Workday, ensuring data changes are entered correctly and deadlines are consistently met
Review timecards and approvals before payroll submission so employee pay is processed on schedule and in compliance with internal controls
Handle manual payroll reconciliation activities for smaller payroll populations that require additional review and more hands-on administration
Support leave administration and benefits-related matters by coordinating with employees and third-party benefit administrators on status updates and required documentation
Assist with recruiting efforts by supporting candidate coordination, early-stage hiring activities, and full-cycle recruitment tasks when needed
Contribute to talent management processes, including performance and talent review activities and Workday-related testing tied to upcoming HR workflows
Provide clear and timely communication to employees, managers, and cross-functional partners regarding payroll, HR processes, and personnel-related questions
Requirements:
Prior experience in a blended HR and payroll role, preferably at the manager level within a structured business environment
Strong working knowledge of Workday, including payroll-related updates, employee record maintenance, and HR process support
Experience administering full-cycle payroll with a high degree of accuracy, including reconciliation and exception handling
Familiarity with HR administration such as employee relations, onboarding, benefits coordination, and leave management
Ability to work onsite in Piqua, Ohio and support a schedule within standard daytime business hours with some start-time flexibility
Excellent attention to detail, sound judgment with confidential information, and a dependable, process-oriented work style
Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with employees, leadership, and external service providers
Additional experience with ADP and full-cycle recruiting is helpful
