Robert Half is partnering with a growing company who is seeking an experienced HR & Payroll Manager to lead all human resources and payroll functions for a growing operations team. This is a hands-on role overseeing the full employee lifecycle, payroll accuracy, compliance, and HR processes that support a field-heavy workforce.
Job Responsibility:
Lead end-to-end biweekly payroll processing (multi-state)
Audit timecards, manage overtime/per diem, and ensure compliance
Administer deductions (garnishments, benefits, retirement)
Own year-end processes including W-2s and reconciliations
Manage HRIS/payroll system (Paycom preferred) and reporting
Serve as primary contact for employee relations and investigations
Ensure compliance with federal and Colorado labor laws (FLSA, FMLA, ADA, FAMLI, COMPS, WAGES Act)
Maintain audit-ready employee records and documentation
Manage workers’ comp and OSHA reporting
Develop and enforce policies and procedures
Lead full-cycle recruiting and onboarding/offboarding
Oversee performance evaluations and workforce planning
Administer benefits (health, dental, vision, SIMPLE IRA)
Deliver reporting on headcount, turnover, and labor costs
Drive process improvements and support audits
Requirements:
5+ years of HR & payroll experience (including leadership)
Proven experience running full-cycle payroll for 50+ employees
Strong knowledge of employment law and compliance
Experience with HRIS/payroll systems (Paycom preferred)
Advanced organizational skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, field-driven environment
Nice to have:
Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or related field
PHR, SHRM-CP, or CPP certification
Experience in oil & gas, construction, or industrial services
