Job Description:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized Human Resources (HR) Assistant to join our team in Washington, District of Columbia. In this Contract to permanent role, you will provide essential support across various HR functions, including recruitment, administrative tasks, and employee file management. This position offers an excellent opportunity for candidates who are eager to grow in the HR field while contributing to a dynamic and collaborative work environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Coordinate recruitment activities by screening candidates, scheduling interviews, and confirming appointments
  • Maintain and audit personnel files to ensure compliance, identify missing documents, and prepare files for audits
  • Assist with payroll-related tasks, including tracking tax withholding accounts and ensuring accurate records
  • Organize and update policy files while providing general administrative support for HR operations
  • Use HR systems like Paychex and SharePoint to manage information and maintain accurate databases
  • Support onboarding processes to ensure smooth transitions for new hires
  • Communicate professionally with candidates and employees, fostering positive interactions
  • Provide oversight and tracking for HR documentation and compliance requirements
  • Collaborate with team members to enhance efficiency and streamline processes
  • Handle sensitive information with a high level of discretion and professionalism

Requirements:

  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Proficient in using HR software, including Paychex and SharePoint
