We are looking for a dependable Human Resources (HR) Assistant to support day-to-day HR operations for a non-profit client located in west Los Angeles. This long-term contract opportunity is ideal for someone who can help keep essential people processes running smoothly in a fast-paced environment with immediate staffing needs. The role will assist with employee support, hiring coordination, and administrative HR tasks while working closely with the broader human resources team.
Job Responsibility
Support daily human resources activities by organizing records, responding to routine employee inquiries, and helping maintain accurate personnel documentation
Coordinate onboarding tasks for new hires, including preparing paperwork, tracking required documents, and ensuring pre-employment steps are completed on time
Assist with pre-employment screening processing and follow up with candidates or internal stakeholders to resolve missing information
Maintain and update employee data within the HRIS, ensuring information is entered correctly and kept current
Partner with HR team members to schedule interviews, meetings, and other employment-related activities as needed
Provide administrative support for employee relations matters by preparing files, tracking cases, and helping route issues to appropriate HR staff
Help manage high-volume HR workflows so critical agency support and core personnel operations continue without disruption
Requirements
Previous experience in human resources support, HR coordination, or a similar administrative role
Working knowledge of HR administration practices, including employee records management and general HR procedures
Experience using an HRIS to enter, review, and maintain confidential employee information
Familiarity with onboarding processes, background screening coordination, and new employee documentation
Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet urgent deadlines
Effective written and verbal communication skills for interacting with employees, candidates, and internal teams
