The Human Resources Generalist provides hands-on HR execution and coordination support for a multi-property, seasonal operation. This role focuses on recruiting, onboarding, payroll coordination, employee relations support, and core HR compliance while partnering closely with Operations leadership and Corporate HR. The role owns execution quality and documentation but escalates complex or high-risk matters.
Job Responsibility:
Serve as a primary point of contact for employee HR inquiries across multiple properties
Support routine employee relations matters related to attendance, conduct, and performance, escalating complex or high-risk issues as appropriate
Prepare corrective action and performance documentation for leadership review and approval
Coordinate workplace investigations in partnership with Operations leadership and Corporate HR
Coordinate recruiting and hiring activities, including job postings, applicant tracking, interview scheduling, and onboarding logistics
Support seasonal workforce ramp-up and onboarding across all properties
Coordinate payroll preparation by reviewing timekeeping records, pay adjustments, tips, and commissions prior to submission to Corporate/Home Office
Assist in resolving payroll discrepancies and employee pay questions in partnership with leadership
Support compliance with wage and hour requirements, predictive scheduling practices, and required training tracking
Assist with leave administration (FMLA, OFLA, ADA) under Corporate HR guidance
Maintain personnel files, HR records, and required documentation in accordance with record retention requirements
Provide HR process guidance to supervisors, including performance documentation expectations and policy application with Corporate HR support
Support onboarding and basic training of new supervisors and managers
Maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when handling sensitive employee information
Positively contribute to organizational culture and demonstrate KemperSports’ core values
Maintain awareness of HR best practices and regulatory requirements applicable to the operation
Requirements:
Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Human Resources or related field preferred
3–5 years of HR experience, preferably in an operational or multi-site environment
Experience supporting employee relations, recruiting, and payroll coordination
Working knowledge of wage and hour compliance and HR administration
Proficiency with HRIS and timekeeping systems (UKG preferred)
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to manage confidential information with discretion
Positive attitude, professional manner and appearance in all situations
Must have the ability to: Give verbal and written instructions
Read and write (English)
Communicate verbally with staff and customers
Visually inspect all work areas
Perform mathematical calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages
Retrieve information from technical sources
Stand, walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, bend and kneel for up to 5 hours at a time
Lift up to 50 lbs occasionally, 20 lbs frequently, and 10 lbs constantly
