The Human Resources Generalist is a key member of the HR team. We are seeking a detail-oriented, employee-focused professional to support both hourly and salaried staff. This role is essential in delivering timely, high-quality HR support by managing day-to-day employee inquiries, assisting with employee relations, and executing core HR processes. This role is located in Tempe AZ- all candidates must be able to commute into this location weekly.
Job Responsibility:
Monitor and manage the HR inbox for assigned business areas, ensuring timely acknowledgment and routing of employee and manager inquiries
Provide accurate, consistent responses to common HR questions using established guidelines and resources
Escalate more complex or sensitive inquiries to the HR Manager or HRBP as appropriate
Serve as a first point of contact for basic employee relations questions (e.g., attendance, policy clarification, minor workplace concerns)
Conduct simple investigations, document findings, and recommend appropriate next steps
Support development and tracking of performance improvement plans (PIPs), particularly for hourly and entry-level employees
Submit employee changes in ADP (job changes, pay updates, status changes, etc.) ensuring accuracy and timeliness
Assist with leave of absence and accommodation processes, including FMLA and ADA, documentation, and communication with employees and business leaders
Partner with payroll and other HR functions to resolve any discrepancies in employment data
Maintain accurate and compliant documentation of employee records
Partner with Talent Acquisition to support hiring for hourly and entry-level roles
Support onboarding plans for new hires to ensure a smooth and engaging experience
Lead new hire orientation for Tempe-based employees
Support managers in fostering a positive employee experience
Coordinate employee events, and recognition efforts for Tempe-based employees
Conduct exit interviews to gather feedback of departing employees to understand areas of concern, sharing trends and insights with HR leadership
Requirements:
1-2 years of experience in Human Resources, administrative support, customer service, or a related field
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Strong interest in building a career in Human Resources
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a customer-service mindset
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion
Problem-solving mindset with the ability to ask questions, learn quickly, and apply guidance
Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
