Job Description

We are seeking a SHRM certified Director of Human Resources to join the United Way of Greater Cincinnati team. This leader will drive talent strategy, shape an exceptional employee experience, and serve as a trusted partner to people and executive leaders on strategic HR priorities. A successful candidate will have a proven track record of building and leading high-performing HR teams, developing and executing talent management strategies, and enhancing employee engagement and satisfaction. This leader combines strong business acumen with the ability to partner effectively with the Executive Leadership team and leadership across the organization to drive results. This role is instrumental in strengthening organizational capacity to attract, develop, and retain talent, while cultivating a high-performance culture grounded in empowerment, collaboration, teamwork, and excellence. Responsibilities include leading strategic HR planning and overseeing one direct report.

Job Responsibility

  • Partners with Executive staff to provide strategic HR guidance, including workforce planning, organizational design, and change management
  • Serves as a consultative resource to all people managers regarding human resources matters
  • Provides consultative resources to all employees providing coaching, dispute resolution, professional development recommendations or other appropriate support as necessary
  • Responds to and facilitates investigation and/or resolution of employee relations issues
  • Oversees the implementation of inclusive recruitment, orientation, development, and retention processes
  • Develops and implements comprehensive talent development strategies and programs
  • Leads the design and implementation of training and development initiatives
  • Strengthens staff performance & accountability across the organization
  • Works closely with executive leadership and managers to identify critical skill gaps and talent priorities
  • Drives effective succession planning programs
  • Stays up to date on employment legislation, compliance requirements, and industry trends
  • Ensures HR policies and procedures are up to date and appropriate programs comply with applicable laws and regulations
  • Manages compensation structure and regular reviews

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in human resources or management
  • SHRM-SCP or SHRM-CP certification required, or willingness to obtain within 6 months as a condition of employment
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive HR experience, including experience leading HR teams and implementing talent management programs
  • Strong knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and employment laws and regulations
  • Proficient in computer applications including Microsoft Office 365
