Hitech Bay Inc. is seeking a HR Coordinator. This position requires broad HR knowledge in Ontario employment law, and the ability to handle everything from daily HR tasks to complex escalations. Job Responsibility:
Recruitment and Hiring - Help develop and execute effective onboarding programs for new hires. Provide support in other HR program areas such as talent development, employee engagement initiatives tailored to small business environments
Employee Relations - Handle complex HR escalations and sensitive employee relations issues. This includes mediating workplace conflicts, conducting workplace investigations or coaching sessions, and guiding managers through conflict resolution and disciplinary processes while maintaining fairness and compliance
Training and Development - Identifying training needs, facilitating workshops, and supporting employee professional development
Policy Development and Implementation - Draft, customize, and update HR policies, employee handbooks, and templates to meet each client’s needs and ensure compliance with Ontario labor laws and regulations - Serve as the go-to HR advisor for clients, providing guidance on Ontario employment (e.g. Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Code, OHSA) and HR best practices. Ensure clients’ HR practices remain compliant with provincial legislation and advise
Performance Management - Support and manage employee performance and conduct. Assist with designing and implementing performance improvement plans, delivering constructive feedback, and, when needed, guide the process of terminations or layoffs (including preparation of termination documentation and adherence to legal requirements for terminations and severance)
Employee record management - Maintaining accurate and confidential employee records
Strategic HR Planning - Contributing to workforce planning, talent management, and overall HR strategy
Employee Engagement - Organizing activities and events to promote a positive and engaging work environment
Requirements:
Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word
Ability to function in a dynamic environment with changing priorities
Strong communicator with a demonstrated ability to work in a team-based environment and capable of working effectively with all levels within the organization from warehouse team member to senior management
Skilled in Team Work and Communication
Ability to assess and solve problems efficiently
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
