Job Description

An exciting restaurant group is looking for a Human Resources Coordinator on a contract to hire basis. You will help support daily HR and people operations across multiple states, and you will join a HR team of 3 to help support around 1500 employees! This is an on-site role located in Beverly Hills that will start immediately.

Job Responsibility

  • Provide HR administrative support, with a particular emphasis on California employment law and compliance
  • Act as a primary point of contact for employee HR inquiries and help escalate issues as needed
  • Support employee relations, including documentation and timely follow-up
  • Manage EDD requests, employment verifications, and records requests—especially for California employees
  • Administer employee benefits, handling enrollments, changes, terminations, and open enrollment processes
  • Liaise between employees, payroll, and benefits vendors to resolve benefits-related concerns
  • Ensure full compliance with Form I-9 documentation and related federal and state requirements
  • Assist with recruiting and talent processes, such as candidate tracking and interview scheduling
  • Maintain reliable and accurate employee records within the HRIS
  • Contribute to rewards and recognition programs and general office administrative tasks
  • Assist with ensuring overall multi-state employment law compliance

Requirements

  • Demonstrated understanding of California employment law
  • 2–3 years of experience in an HR Coordinator or HR administrative role preferred
  • Bilingual skills in Spanish and English strongly preferred
  • HRIS experience required
  • Strong organizational ability, a high attention to detail, and professionalism in managing confidential information
  • Excellent written and verbal communication as well as interpersonal skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-location work environment
  • At least 2 years of experience in HR is required

Nice to have

Experience in hospitality or restaurant environments is a plus
