Reporting to the Manager Human Resources, the HRBP is responsible for providing generalist HR support to staff and line management, primarily in the implementation of core HR processes; recruitment, compensation, employee relations, labor relations, training, performance management, etc. The incumbent will interpret and apply policies and procedures. The role will vary from site to site based on local, business and HR priorities. As the Manager’s prime sounding board and trouble shooter, the incumbent will focus on high priority/high complexity projects: process improvement, procedure development, issue resolution, coaching of line management, training, and labor relations. This is an on-site position supporting our Chicago, Illinois and Fort Wayne, Indiana facilities requiring frequent travel between the two locations.
Job Responsibility:
Adhere to Bombardier General Work Rules
Implement core HR processes for the assigned business unit
employee relations, labor relations, performance management, compensation, etc.
Provide HR Support for all employees including represented and non-represented
Evaluate, and make recommendations for strategies to recruit and retain employees
Manage Employee Relations cases with the collaboration of the Leadership
Recommend and implement process improvements
Monitor regular metrics for trends
investigate and recommend strategies for improvement
Partner with the Ethics team to ensure investigations and recommended actions are completed in a timely manner
Collaborate on New Employee Orientation and out-processing activities
Collaborate with the Business Leaders for the Employee Engagement Plan
Research and respond to questions from employees, managers and directors regarding Human Resource programs, policies and procedures
establishes and maintains effective working relationships within department and all employees
Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition team to oversee the process of recruiting and selecting qualified job candidates in a timely and cost-efficient manner for all personnel
ensures all recruiting practices are in compliance with applicable laws and company policy
Provides input on recruitment strategies with hiring managers and Recruiters to include interview teams, job postings, external advertising
Coach, consult and collaborate with clients to help them meet their business and human capital objectives
Provide coaching, counsel and advice on HR/people related issues for staff and line management, up to Director level
Make recommendations up to director level for compensation related items including salary offers and adjustments to ensure alignment with market, internal salary structure and equity practices
Participate fully as part of business unit leadership team
Liaison as required with all COE’s and maintain and drive collaborative relationships with our internal partners
Requirements:
5+ years professional and progressive experience with Bachelor’s degree in related field or 7+ years professional and progressive experience in related field
computer skills necessary to learn and/or operate word processing spreadsheet, database, email, and web-based applications
interpersonal skills necessary to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, employees, management, and contractors
recruiting, hiring, and interviewing experience required
basic knowledge of Employment Law
