We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to support a dynamic hospital environment in Newark, NJ. This role serves as a trusted advisor to department leaders and employees, providing hands‑on HR support across employee relations, compliance, retention, and workforce development. The HRBP acts as a key liaison between assigned departments and Human Resources, Employee Health, and leadership, ensuring a positive, compliant, and engaged workplace.
Job Responsibility:
Counsel employees on interdepartmental transfers, promotional opportunities, and continuing education programs
Support employee retention initiatives and conduct follow‑up related to employee satisfaction and engagement
Conduct exit interviews and analyze trends to identify opportunities for improvement
Build and maintain effective working relationships with department leadership and staff
Manage active employee relations issues and provide guidance
Serve as liaison between assigned departments and Employee Health Services
Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of employment laws and regulatory requirements
Prepare required corporate and facility HR reports
Prepare documentation for peer reviews, grievances, legal matters, and unemployment claims
Act as a consultant and mediator on policy interpretation and union contract matters
Demonstrate professional office etiquette
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required
Minimum of 3 years of HR experience, preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting
Strong working knowledge of employment law, employee relations, and regulatory compliance
Experience supporting union environments strongly preferred
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict‑resolution skills
Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
