Job Description

The role of HR Business Partner is to act as an HR interface within a defined business leadership community providing leadership to the business leadership team, and drive the delivery of the transformational people agenda, bringing to life the Vodacom people strategy.

Job Responsibility

  • Facilitates the development and delivery of the local people plan reflecting the Vodacom people strategy in order to enable the achievement of the Business Strategy
  • A member of the defined business area leadership team, and business partner to the senior member of that team
  • Continually challenges the business, instigation and leading transformation projects that improve organisation, team and individual effectiveness encompassing organisation design, organisation capability, talent management, organisational development, organisational effectiveness, behaviour and culture change, and M&A
  • Provides coaching to the business area leadership team, regarding the management of others in the business area
  • Facilitates the resourcing and development of the business area leadership team, optimising performance and team effectiveness
  • Ensures all leaders and people managers are equipped to drive employee engagement
  • Manages the relationships with other HR teams and functions, to integrate local, regional and group HR plans, and to share and leverage best practice
  • Partners with HR Services and the centres of Expertise to ensure seamless customer experience for leaders, people managers and employees
  • Manage the activities of the HR Business partners, providing coaching and development
  • Offers advice and guidance and fosters productive working relationships with other teams

Requirements

  • Role relevant qualifications, with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience
  • Possess a very high level of communication skills, including interactive listening in order to negotiate (mainly internally) with others often at a senior level
  • Good analytical skills as well as evaluative judgment based on the analysis of factual and qualitative information in complicated or novel situations in order to provide value added services to business lines
  • Commercially savvy/good depth of business understanding
  • Good breadth of HR experience

  • Strong relationship and coaching skills
  • Analytical, intellectual capacity to learn very quickly
  • Experience of supporting organizational transformation, capability building and working with ambiguity
  • Degree in Human science / Law / Economic
