We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented professional to join our team. The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s or an associate’s degree in business administration, Human Resources or related area. SHRM certification is highly desirable plus three to five years of experience in human resources or a related field. Municipal experience preferred.
Job Responsibility
Coordinates and administers employee and retiree benefit programs, including health insurance, life insurance, flexible spending accounts, voluntary benefits, Workers’ Compensation, and leave of absence programs
Provides direct support to employees and retirees regarding benefit enrollment, eligibility, and program administration
Maintains knowledge of applicable benefits laws, regulations, policies, and industry trends
Conducts research, prepares reports, and assists the Human Resources Director / Assistant Human Resources Director with benefits administration, compliance, and budget monitoring
Performs work in a highly sensitive and confidential environment requiring compliance with federal, state, municipal, and collective bargaining requirements
Provides supervision to HR support staff, interns, and volunteers
