Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented professional to join our team. The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s or an associate’s degree in business administration, Human Resources or related area. SHRM certification is highly desirable plus three to five years of experience in human resources or a related field. Municipal experience preferred.

Job Responsibility

  • Coordinates and administers employee and retiree benefit programs, including health insurance, life insurance, flexible spending accounts, voluntary benefits, Workers’ Compensation, and leave of absence programs
  • Provides direct support to employees and retirees regarding benefit enrollment, eligibility, and program administration
  • Maintains knowledge of applicable benefits laws, regulations, policies, and industry trends
  • Conducts research, prepares reports, and assists the Human Resources Director / Assistant Human Resources Director with benefits administration, compliance, and budget monitoring
  • Performs work in a highly sensitive and confidential environment requiring compliance with federal, state, municipal, and collective bargaining requirements
  • Provides supervision to HR support staff, interns, and volunteers

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or an associate’s degree in business administration, Human Resources or related area
  • three to five years of experience in human resources or a related field
  • municipal experience preferred
  • SHRM certification is highly desirable
