We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Human Resources (HR) Assistant to join our team on a contract basis in Santa Barbara, California. This role is ideal for an individual eager to gain hands-on HR experience while supporting key administrative and organizational tasks. The position requires strong organizational skills and proficiency with HR systems and office software.
Job Responsibility:
Assist in scanning and organizing HR documents to support record management and compliance
Navigate applicant tracking systems and audit files for accuracy and completeness
Generate reports and maintain spreadsheets to track HR data and processes
Order office supplies, manage payments, and handle billing tasks as needed
Support the HR Director with day-to-day operations and special projects
Create and organize folders within HR systems to streamline workflows
Ensure timely and accurate data entry into HRIS platforms
Coordinate with benefits providers and assist with employee onboarding
Maintain strict confidentiality while handling sensitive employee information
Support system transitions from manual to automated processes
Requirements:
Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Human Resources or administrative role
Proficiency in HRIS platforms, such as Hirebridge or PeopleGuru
Advanced skills in Excel and the Office Suite
Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail
Ability to generate reports and analyze HR data effectively
Familiarity with employee onboarding processes
Excellent time management skills and reliability in meeting deadlines
Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members and external vendors
