We are looking for a dedicated Human Resources Assistant to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Modesto, California. This position plays a vital role in supporting the HR department by managing administrative tasks, ensuring smooth operations, and contributing to the overall efficiency of HR processes. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and eager to assist in maintaining compliance and supporting employee needs.
Job Responsibility:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including digital files and physical documents
Facilitate recruitment efforts by posting job advertisements, screening applications, coordinating interviews, and communicating with candidates
Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring all required documents are completed and filed appropriately
Coordinate benefits administration tasks, including answering employee inquiries and managing enrollments or changes
Prepare essential HR documentation such as contracts, offer letters, and reports
Support payroll processing by handling timekeeping and attendance records
Ensure adherence to HR policies and procedures while assisting with compliance and regulatory requirements
Respond to employee questions regarding HR policies, procedures, and benefits
Contribute to internal HR initiatives and projects to improve departmental operations
Requirements:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred
Minimum of two years of experience in an HR administrative or support role
Proficiency in handling legal forms and correspondence
Familiarity with HR administration tasks, including background checks and benefit functions
Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with employees and management
High level of attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and prior experience with HR software systems such as Paycom
