We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Human Resources (HR) Assistant to join our team in Los Alamitos, California. This long-term contract position offers the opportunity to contribute to a growing HR department, providing essential administrative and compliance support. Job Responsibility:
Conduct thorough audits of employee records, including I-9 forms, to ensure compliance with regulations and organizational standards
Support the implementation of new HR software and manage accompanying documentation
Assist with administrative tasks such as organizing employee files, addressing backlogs, and identifying opportunities for process improvements
Generate reports and perform basic HR data analysis using Microsoft Excel, applying formulas and simple analytics
Help the team adapt to a dynamic work environment by quickly learning new processes and tools
Maintain and update HR records, ensuring all documentation is accurate and well-organized
Input and validate data in Paylocity, ensuring system accuracy and reliability
Collaborate with the HR team to meet deadlines and enhance department efficiency
Requirements:
Proven experience in an HR support or administrative role
Familiarity with HR compliance requirements, including I-9 forms and employee file audits
Hands-on experience with Paylocity or comparable HRIS platforms
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the use of formulas and basic data analysis
Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage repetitive tasks effectively
Quick learner with the ability to adapt to evolving priorities and new technologies
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Ability to work onsite and contribute to a collaborative team environment
