Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Human Resources Assistant to support day-to-day HR operations in Charleston, South Carolina. This contract position has the potential to become permanent and is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing administrative coordination with employee support in a fast-paced environment. The role requires strong Excel and reporting capabilities, along with working knowledge of HRIS systems and leave of absence processes.

Job Responsibility

  • Prepare regular reports and spreadsheets in Microsoft Excel to track HR activity
  • Assist with onboarding activities by coordinating new employee documentation, background checks, and orientation-related tasks
  • Respond to routine employee questions and provide administrative support related to HR policies, procedures, and employee relations matters
  • Support leave of absence administration by helping track requests, documentation, and status updates in alignment with company guidelines
  • Coordinate HR paperwork and general administrative processes to keep daily department activities running efficiently

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience in human resources, administrative support, or a related office environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to organize data and produce clear reports
  • Experience working with HRIS platforms and maintaining accurate employee information
  • Understanding of leave of absence practices and the ability to manage related administrative tasks
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills when assisting employees and collaborating with internal teams
  • High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a structured manner
