We are looking for a dedicated Human Resources (HR) Assistant to join our client's team in West Hartford, Connecticut. This role is a Long-term Contract position within the manufacturing industry, offering an excellent opportunity to contribute to the daily operations of the HR department. The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting employee relations, recruitment, compliance, and administrative functions while ensuring organizational efficiency.
Job Responsibility:
Maintain and update employee records in both physical and digital formats, ensuring accuracy and compliance
Input and manage data across HR systems, including employee onboarding, changes in status, and terminations
Process, file, and track HR documentation such as attendance records, time-off requests, and disciplinary forms
Ensure all HR files adhere to company policies and legal requirements
Assist in posting job vacancies, reviewing applications, and coordinating interviews
Prepare paperwork for new employees and facilitate onboarding activities, including orientation sessions and verification processes
Distribute employee communications, policies, and notices as needed to support company initiatives
Support the organization and coordination of employee engagement events and training activities
Prepare regular reports related to HR operations and assist in audits to ensure documentation accuracy
Collaborate on compliance-related tasks, including personnel file audits and tracking required documentation
Requirements:
At least 1-2 years of experience in administrative or HR roles, with HR experience preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring tasks are completed accurately
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Capable of prioritizing tasks effectively and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Familiarity with HR systems such as Dayforce, Paycom, Workday, or BambooHR is a plus
Basic understanding of HR practices and employment laws, especially in manufacturing or shift-based environments
