We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented HR and Safety Assistant to join our team. This bilingual role is critical in supporting both human resources operations and workplace safety programs. The ideal candidate is organized, communicative, and passionate about creating a positive, compliant, and safe work environment. Fluency in English and Spanish is required to effectively support our diverse workforce.
Job Responsibility:
Assist with day-to-day HR functions including employee onboarding, offboarding, benefits administration, and maintaining employee records
Support recruitment efforts: post job openings, screen resumes, schedule interviews, and assist with new hire orientation
Help maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (e.g., FLSA, FMLA, OSHA, Cal/OSHA)
Coordinate safety training programs, safety meetings, and audits
Assist in incident reporting, investigations, and workers’ compensation claims
Translate HR and safety documents, policies, and communications between English and Spanish
Support employee relations by addressing basic inquiries and escalating complex issues as needed
Maintain accurate HRIS data and safety records
Participate in safety inspections and help implement corrective actions
Assist with special projects as assigned by HR or Safety leadership
Requirements:
Bilingual Requirement: Fully fluent in English and Spanish (spoken and written) – mandatory
1–3 years of experience in HR, safety, or administrative support (entry-level candidates with strong internships or relevant education will be considered)
High school diploma or equivalent required
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Occupational Safety, or related field preferred
Knowledge of HR best practices and safety regulations (OSHA/Cal/OSHA experience a plus)
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfortable learning HRIS systems
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
SHRM, OSHA 10/30, or other relevant certifications are a plus
