A long‑standing organization in the Rensselaer area is seeking a dependable and detail‑oriented HR Generalist to support day‑to‑day human resources operations. The HR Generalist will support approximately 250 employees and work closely with senior leadership in a collaborative, community‑focused environment. Job Responsibility:
Serve as a primary point of contact for employee questions, policy interpretation, and routine HR support
Promote positive employee relations by offering guidance and resolving basic workplace concerns
Assist with performance management processes and documentation
Support full‑cycle recruitment activities, including posting roles, screening applicants, and coordinating interviews
Prepare offer letters and assist with new‑hire onboarding
Facilitate new‑hire orientation and ensure a smooth transition for incoming employees
Maintain accurate employee records, files, and HRIS data
Process employee status changes, terminations, and updates
Coordinate benefits administration, open enrollment, and employee communications
Manage FMLA and benefit‑related claims, ensuring eligibility and documentation accuracy
Partner with payroll to ensure correct benefit deductions
Track PTO balances and provide monthly reports to department leaders
Assist with compliance requirements, audits, and reporting
Support the development and communication of HR policies and procedures
Coordinate training sessions, compliance courses, and employee development activities
Assist with employee engagement initiatives and internal communications
Maintain the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism
Escalate issues appropriately to senior leadership when needed
Requirements:
Experience in HR support, HR coordination, or generalist‑level responsibilities
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
Comfortable working onsite in a structured, steady environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
HRIS experience preferred
